General Puppy Info
So, you’ve done your yorkie homework, you’ve researched the yorkshire terrier breed, checked out Southern Yorkies website, had your questions answered, now you’re paws-a-tively ready to add a Southern Belle or Good ‘ole Boy Yorkie to your family? …FABULOUS!!
The next step is to decide what size puppy you are wanting…
The size distinctions at Southern Yorkies are: TOY, TEACUP, and MICRO.
TOY size includes puppies that are charting 5 pounds and up or the PLATINUM LIST which is TEACUP/ MICRO, which is for puppies charting 4.99 pounds and below. Toy size puppies are offered on a first come, first serve bases. If you would like to be notified when I post new puppies, please complete quick form found HERE!
The only list where you are guaranteed a puppy is the PLATINUM LIST. To get on it, a non-refundable deposit of $100.00 and a complete Puppy Application is REQUIRED. Once on the PLATINUM LIST, your $100.00 deposit must be applied to the purchase price of a TEACUP or MICRO size puppy. No Exceptions. Due to the demand for my puppies, I only accept a limited number of new applications and deposits TWICE a year: JANUARY 15th and JUNE 15th.
Once on the PLATINUM LIST, puppies will be offered in the order the deposit is submitted and your deposit is valid for ONE year. The $100.00 Deposit will be applied to the purchase price of a specific puppy, so the money is not “lost.” The sooner you submit your deposit, the higher you will be on the list! When it comes to submitting the Puppy Application, I want you to take your time. The more information you give me, the better I am able to help you get the right puppy for your lifestyle.
Once the puppy is ready for his/her new home, you will be given a 5 day grace period to make arrangements to come get your new fur baby, then a daily boarding fee applies OR the puppy is returned to be for sale. Due to previous false buyers, this daily boarding fee is STRICTLY enforced.
Given that information, please know that inquiries made via Text Message, will not taken seriously. I take finding my fur babies a new home very seriously, and communication via SMS does not allow me to determine if it is a good fit. I hope you understand. So, pick up the phone, send me an email and complete the form!! (I love to talk Yorkie!!) If there is currently a Yorkie advertised on the site that interests you, please indicate that on the form. Should you have any questions, please give me a call. Puppy Applications are processed in the order in which they are received. Once I have a litter of puppies in the house, my life gets a little hectic, so I encourage you to maintain communication with me. In short, email me, text me, call me. I want to see that you are as excited about your new yorkie as I am!
Below is a general sequence of events that take place for each litter of yorkies. Below dates are estimates, as each puppy is unique.
- 3 Days After Birth; Removal of: DewClaws & Tail Docking
- 3-20 Days Bio-Sensor Puppy Program
- 7 weeks old; Volhard Temperament Test
- 7-8 weeks old; Puppy Priced
- 8-9 weeks old; Veterinarian Exam/ Complete Wellness Test
- 8-9 weeks old; TOY size puppies are READY FOR NEW HOME
Puppy Photographs are typically taken once a month… ballpark.
I do not mind snapping the occassional cell phone picture here and there, but yorkies move at lightening speed and “capturing the moment” can be difficult and time consuming, hence why I pay a photographer to shoot the puppies professionally. A Sales Agreement is placed with EVERY puppy or dog sold. No Exceptions. The Buyer is required to complete the bottom portion of the agreement, that gives general information about the new owners. The Breeder’s contact information is also given in the agreement. Lastly, due unscrupulous people trying to scam, steal or fabricate false information in efforts to obtain a Yorkie, the New Owner must be over 18 years old and will be required to provide a copy of his/her State Issued Driver’s License Identification before transfer of a dog will take place. Puppy Deposits may be paid through the PayPal link, but the full balance of puppy must be done in CASH.
